 Karai Gosh Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 2 green chili peppers, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  3. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are browned and soft, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they have softened and broken down, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  7. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Stir well to combine.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken cook until it is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
  9. Stir in the chopped green chili peppers.
  10. Serve the Karai Gosh hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves.
