Karai Gosh Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2 green chili peppers, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until they are browned and soft, about 10 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they have softened and broken down, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Stir well to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken cook until it is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped green chili peppers.
- Serve the Karai Gosh hot, garnished with fresh cilantro leaves.
